A short story goes free, and the Farthest Star is almost here

You know it's a Monday when it's a short post about what's going on this week. I'm currently sitting with a six month, newly vaccinated kiddo on my lap as I write this, and he's pretty fascinated in how fast my fingers fun along the keys.

Sometimes I wish I could be entertained by such simple, pleasant things as the clacking of a mechanical keyboard.

But, to the point!

The Metal Man is free this week across the Amazon spectrum, so if you're looking for a chance to hang out with Mox on the Moon, this shortish story makes for a nice evening. I'd take it with a nice red, or maybe a smooth single malt if that's more your speed.

Mox is one of those characters that surprises you, an initial sidekick that grows so fun and interesting that I keep finding ways to include him in more stories. He might even show up in next month's Rogue Bet too, but, you know, you'll have to wait a bit more for that one...

This month's main release kicks off a new trilogy: The Farthest Star is a bigger, bolder sci-fi piece than I've done before, exploring both real and virtual worlds on a giant starship flung across the galaxy. It's coming out next Tuesday, so if you want to pick it up at its pre-order price, it's there. And fear not, print editions are coming!

Anyway, that's what I've got for today. Kiddo's getting restless, and dinner calls - unfortunately, I don't have a bot that'll cook for me yet. Still waiting on that dream...
