The Wild Nines Are Back

The Wild Nines Are Back

The headline says it all - Rogue Bet is out in the wild in paperback and ebook, with Davin Masters making enemies, finding trouble, and surviving with a side of sarcasm in a new adventure taking place after the first trilogy. I've been wanting to come back to the 'Nines for a while, with an idea that's been bubbling in the brain space that couldn't be put off any more. It's a fun, fast-paced ride that sets off a new trilogy, and I hope you'll enjoy every page.

Beyond carving up the stars with Davin and Co, I've been working on the next books in the Sever Squad series. Those soldiers have things a little harder, a little more in the dust and dirt than the 'Nines, so venturing through that hardscrabble universe has been the good kind of different. Expect the next few months to be dedicated to that series, eventually wrapping it up at six books or so.

After that, well, it's a series grab bag with The Farthest Star, Rogue Bet, and Champion's Call all with sequels on tap. It's tough having to choose between so many enticing stories to tell, but hey, there are worse problems!

As a side note, as I write this, it's certainly tough times all around. The stories I write (and the ones I read) tend to take place far away from the troubles on good ol' Earth, but I try not to forget that entirely. So, in that vein, if you're in the US: vote. Otherwise, stay safe. Take care of yourselves.

Rogue Bet - The Wild Nines Book Four

Turns out saving the solar system doesn't make you a hero. It makes you a target.

With his crew gone their separate ways, Davin runs cargo from Mars to the Moon, taking bit jobs as they come in and watching as the safe play slowly ruins his relationship with Phyla. Itching for some action, Davin jumps at a chance when a call comes in to get a secret weapon all the way out to Jupiter. It's a mission that turns dangerous quick, but then, isn't that what Davin's wanted?

Bursting into a new story set after the first Wild Nines novels, Rogue Bet slams Davin's cocky attitude into big problems with messy solutions. Friends and enemies return, not always on the same sides, as Davin and Phyla are pulled into a web more dangerous than any they've been in before.

A space opera filled with action, mystery and characters that'll grab you from the first page, Rogue Bet blasts off a new story that puts the fate of the solar system on one freighter and its mercenary crew.
